Obama plane photo op ...WHY?????

A jumbo jet being escorted by fighter jets over New York City --- not the sight that people want to see in the skies over Manhattan. People panicked, buildings were evacuated, workday disrupted -- and people understandably were very nervous...

UPDATED
Obama plane photo op startles New Yorkers
A jumbo jet Airforce One being chased by a F-16 fighter jets buzzed Lower Manhattan this morning, panicking New Yorkers, many of whom were forced to evacuate their office buildings.
White House Apologizes
A White House official is taking responsibility for a Boeing 747's flying photo op over New York City that sent some workers in lower Manhattan into a panic.

OK...is it just me or are you wondering the same thing....does the man ever think ahead?? And the ego and arrogance of yet another opportunity to get in front of the cameras. Who are these people in the west wing???? It's like a short clip of National Lampoon...total disregard for the people and it will be interesting to see how they spin this blunder!

First 100 Days!!

The first 100 minutes or the first 100 days....My god! YOU can quit Campaigning already!!!
The first 100 days has been all about throwing as much shit on the walls to see what sticks! Reguardless of the economy, Obama set in action all his wish list priorites. We’re mired in the worst recession since the Great Depression, and Obama’s primary job should be fixing the economy. But he has shown no intention of putting off his expansive agenda. He’s forging ahead with 'his' plans. He wants to do everything at once: revamp the health industry, revolutionize the energy economy, reform the schools. The budget he presented calls for a tripling of the national debt and a decade of trillion-dollar deficits.

How many times have we heard, "I inherited this problem"?
“I strongly believe in a free market system,” he said during the recent G-20 confab in London. Why can't he say that to us Americans...and mean it?
Yet his administration has intervened in the economy in ways previously unheard of. His massive stimulus package was the largest spending bill in U.S. history. His Treasury Department has moved ever closer to nationalizing the nation’s banks. He lends power to big business with no thought to the crippling effects it is imposing on small business owners.

In his recent trips abroad, he has shown a grating tendency to apologize for the perceived shortcomings of his own country. He campaigned on a rapid withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq, but as president he approved a plan not much different from that negotiated by the Bush administration and approved a hefty new deployment of troops to Afghanistan.

He told CIA employees that no one would be prosecuted for using the “enhanced” interrogation techniques. But then, pressured by the left wing of his party, he mused about the need for a “truth commission” to investigate Bush policies, and opened the door to prosecution of Bush-era Justice Department lawyers. A couple days later....the White House was backing away from the idea of a “truth commission.” But Obama’s erratic zig-zagging had triggered a free-for-all that has yet to run its course. He wants bi-partisonship, but inflames the republicans on every bobble-head decision. He can quit campaigning to keep everyone happy and just govern. I would love a week of silence....to have him come back with well planned and thought out solutions.
I would love to have him critic' what has been brought to the table to this date.

* To have a real GOOD LOOK at Al Gore's wacky Cap and Trade and pick it apart for the good and the bad, instead of accepting it as the whole solution.
* KEEP TOP SECRET SECRET! This is not the transparency we need.
* Be more Presidentcial, especially on foreign soil or with foreign diplomats. Americans should be clear on what Obama has done. In a breathtaking display of self-righteousness and intellectual arrogance, the president told Americans that his personal beliefs are more important than protecting their country, their homes and their families.
* Gitmo...If the administration is serious about closing Guantanamo Bay without jeopardizing our security, then the administration needs to work directly with Congress to create a detention process that keeps detainees off U.S. soil."
* Support the work being done to protect out southern border. If you can't send more help, then get out the way and let them do their job. Enforce the written immigration law and shut off all the government aid to those who have come here illegally. Most don't desire to renounce their home country and become citizens, but will gladly accept all the freebies being handed out.
***And that's just a start!***

Affordable Housing - Mortgage Bailouts

Now that the federal government has decided to bail out homeowners in trouble, with mortgage loans up to $729,000, that raises some questions that ought to be asked, but are seldom being asked.

Since the average American never took out a mortgage loan as big as seven hundred grand– for the very good reason that he could not afford it– why should he be forced as a taxpayer to subsidize someone else who apparently couldn’t afford it either, but who got in over his head anyway?

Why should taxpayers who live in apartments, perhaps because they did not feel that they could afford to buy a house, be forced to subsidize other people who could not afford to buy a house, but who went ahead and bought one anyway?

We hear a lot of talk about how any one of us could be in the same financial trouble that many homeowners are in if we lost our job or had some other misfortune. The pat phrase is that we are all just a few paydays away from being in the same predicament. Another way of saying the same thing is that some people live high enough on the hog that any of the common misfortunes of life can ruin them.

Who hasn’t been out of work at some time or other, or had an illness or accident that created unexpected expenses? The old and trite notion of “saving for a rainy day” has been a common experience for a very long time.

What is new is the current notion of indulging people who refused to save for a rainy day or to live within their means. In politics, it is called “compassion”– which comes in both the standard liberal version and “compassionate conservatism.”

The one person toward whom there is no compassion is the taxpayer.

The current political stampede to stop mortgage foreclosures proceeds as if foreclosures are just something that strikes people like a bolt of lightning from the blue– and as if the people facing foreclosures are the only people that matter.

What if the foreclosures are not stopped?

Will millions of homes just sit empty? Or will new people move into those homes, now selling for lower prices– prices perhaps more within the means of the new occupants?

The same politicians who have been talking about a need for “affordable housing” for years are now suddenly alarmed that home prices are falling. How can housing become more affordable unless prices fall? (The easy money is what inflated the price of homes in the first place. The 'falling' is do to prices coming more in line with the 'true value' of what the real estate prices should be ie; x amount of dollars /sq ft. or actual value vs. perceived value.)

The political meaning of “affordable housing” is housing that is made more affordable by politicians intervening to create government subsidies, rent control or other gimmicks for which politicians can take credit. Affordable housing produced by 'market forces', provides no benefit to politicians and has no attraction for them.

Study after study, not only here but in other countries, show that the most affordable housing is where there has been the least government interference with the market– contrary to rhetoric.

When new occupants of foreclosed housing find it more affordable, will the previous occupants all become homeless? Or are they more likely to move into homes or apartments that they can afford? They will of course be sadder– but perhaps wiser as well. Even in an era of much-ballyhooed “change,” the government cannot eliminate sadness. What it can do is transfer that sadness from those who made risky and unwise decisions to the taxpayers who had nothing to do with their decisions.

Worse, the subsidizing of bad decisions destroys one of the most effective sources of better decisions– namely, paying the consequences of bad decisions.

In the wake of the housing debacle in California, more people are buying less expensive homes, making bigger down payments, and staying away from “creative” and risky financing. It is amazing how fast people learn when they are not insulated from the consequences of their decisions.

Obama and the other geniuses running around with our money should take notice of these basic economic principles.

Social Security and Amnesty

Immigrants, illegal or not, 65 or older can now apply for SSI
and Medicaid and get more than a U.S. citizen born in the 1920s.
For example, a typical American born in 1924 with
a median income who worked from 1944 to 2004 receives
only $791 a month. Incredibly, the federal government provides a
single refugee with a monthly allowance of $1,890.

In addition, each immigrant can obtain $580 in social assistance for
a total of $2,470 a month. This contrasts to a single American taxpayer who,
after contributing to the growth and development of this country for 40-50
years, receives a monthly maximum of $1,012 in old-age pension and Guaranteed Income
Supplement.

Maybe U.S. citizens who have paid into the social security fund over a lifetime
should apply as refugees!
Does anyone have any doubt why our social security fund will
be running out of money soon?

The pro-amnesty folks in an editorial in the New York Times say this...
The bad economy will only strengthen the stiff winds of opposition that President Obama will have to fight if he is going to win the sweeping immigration overhaul he has promised. Legalization was already politically treacherous thanks to the tireless work of restrictionists who have spent years denouncing illegal immigrants as harmful to the country’s health.

Our country's health? What about the individual taxpayers? What the hell have our elected politicians been doing during the past 11 years to
us over-taxed Americans.. I think we should overhaul their pensions...when they leave office all government money should END!

Social security should immediately return to its original state.
If you didn't put nuttin in, you ain't gettin nuttin out.
The president nor any other politician should not be able to touch it!

Senate Bill Crack Down on Visa Abuse

Senate bill would crack down on H-1B visa abuse and protect American jobs!
Finally a bill going in the right direction!!

Bipartisan legislation from Senators Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Chuck Grassley (R-IA) would require companies to prove that the hiring of an H-1B foreign worker does not displace an American worker. The bill would also include L-1 visas for foreigners transferring from their home offices to U.S. facilities.

This new bill is expected to be similar to Durbin and Grassley's 2007 proposal, the H-1B and L-1 Visa Fraud and Abuse Prevention Act. That bill would have required employers to advertise job openings for 30 days before submitting H-1B applications for those positions. It also sought to prevent employers from hiring H-1B workers and then outsourcing them to other companies.

The Department of Homeland Security OOOPS! Someone Spilled the Beans!

The DHS office released a report and is warning law enforcement officials about a rise in rightwing extremist activity, saying the economic recession, the election of America's first black president and the return of a few disgruntled war veterans could swell the ranks of white power militias.

The White House has distanced itself from this report. Why? "The President is focused not on politics but rather taking the steps necessary to protect all Americans from the threat of violence and terrorism regardless of its origins." including not just racist or hate groups, but also groups that reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority.

So our boys went over to fight for us and upon coming home Iraq.... they are the ones we worry about? Could be with good reason I suppose, as the majority of them should not have gone in the first place. National Guards are for the Nation's security and Military Troops are for combat. They sent too many of the wrong guys into full active duty. They REVERSED the roles of the military. Here's some very recent history some seemed to have forgot.....

Oct 2008 was the date that America employed a 'standing army' quartered on US soil for the first time since the Civil War.

Thanks to the 2007 defense Appropriations Bill and the USA PATRIOT Act of 2001, the Insurrection Act of 1807 and the Posse Comitatus of 1878 have been altered enough that they are no longer effective. A US Army unit IS deployed within the borders of the United States of America for the express purpose of being used against American citizens for “civil unrest and crowd control”. They claim they’ll do it to save lives, and that may well be what they do at first. But - and there’s that huge “but” - we don’t need a standing army or any standing military force within the borders of the US to do this.

This is what the National Guard (out fighting in Iraq instead of taking care of the home base) is trained to do. The emphasis of the National Guard is on peacekeeping and disaster rescue. They are taught that they are helping their friends and family, their neighbors. It’s a kind mindset, one that makes them part of the community. They live and work in the community most of the time, and they stay local. They create roots, make friends, and live a mostly civilian life.

The emphasis of our military like the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, and the Marines is on combat. The mindset is very different. Their mindset is an us vs them mindset, and we are the “enemy” because we aren’t part of their unit. There is no interaction with the community because often they are housed on base or in enclaves of other soldiers. I live near a military base, and I can tell you the soldiers there don’t consider themselves part of the local community, not even the ones who live off-base. They continue to live a military life. They know that they can be uprooted at any time, sent off somewhere else. There’s no desire to bond with the “locals” because we’re interchangeable. We’re “friendlies” until their commander tells them otherwise - and we can change from “friendlies” to “enemies” in a single word.

Having a standing army, combat ready and prepared to quell anything their commander tells them is “civil unrest” - and right now, the country is full of civil unrest because we don’t trust our politicians. Now, those politicians can aim the military at us.

But, the fellows coming home from the Middle East and back into our communities that they call home are the National Guard. They might just be inclined to protect what they were originally trained to protect....and therefore "malitia material or trainers" and they might just be discruntled!

The next step predicted is the one our politicians have been clamoring for for years - a national ID card. And now there will be a standing army that can demand to see such ID and point guns at us for not having one. They have let the illegal alien and immigration problem escalate... and now you know why?? They will cleverly appear to solve this problem by introducing National ID. They will get Americans behind the effort only the people will not really understand the ramifications until it is too late. After that, any 'gun' policy they choose will be mute.

The Germans did this and our ancestors told of the national ID cards, along with their ration cards and about living in a regime where they could be endlessly held and questioned, and their papers demanded by anyone in a uniform - and we will have taken one step closer to that lifestyle here in America.

Between this, the huge stimulous to nowhere and the proposed government bail-out of private companies, we have lost all the freedoms our ancestors secured for us. We will be entering a severe depression, one which may rival or even surpass the Great Depression. This may create our second civil war.

Prepare, my friends. Learn survival skills and set aside the resources you will need. Do what you can to protect yourself and your loved ones. I sound like an extremist, but it could easily be this extreme! I'm just a conservative and soon to be American citizen #88867224. That's when we will have stopped being a free country.

Mainstream Media, Barack and Reporting

Barack Obama is ignoring the tea party people.
All of the media centers are ignoring the tea party people or ridiculing them.
They have decided or hedged their future worthiness, to be their own voice instead of reporting real'news', because they are floundering. Page 3 doesn't cut it! Their ratings are absolutely horrific and they are collapsing. So what do they do? First they reached for Rush Limbaugh. Then they reach for Glenn Beck and Fox. Then they reach for the last straw, people like you and me. In the case of the media, they are selling out their principles of journalistic standards. Have you ever seen the media actually blatantly pick sides? They didn't cover the news, possibly Historic News. They decided what this movement was. A CNN talk show host impersonating a reporter, tried to 'Make News' by inciteing tempers and twisting the actual news...didn't work, did it. All those normal people from all those cites and all those states throughout the country and now one so called 'rightwing' disruption...hmmm, you'd think the West Wing would be listening.
I didn't see Republicans nor Democrats, I saw Taxpayers! I saw Middle America!

Amnesty is NOT an Option

A few posts back, on illegal immigration, I asked you all to join me in writing/e-mailing your state politions in DC. I did. Here are two responses....

Dear Connie:

Thank you for contacting me regarding immigration reform. It is good to hear from you.

Immigrants helped build our great nation and its image around the world as a land of opportunity. Our current illegal immigration problems, however, are burdening American citizens and marginalizing our legal immigration laws that are inadequately enforced.

I do not support amnesty for illegal aliens. I do support building a fence along portions of our southern border. I also believe English should be the official language of the United States as a way to help strengthen the notions of language and citizenship that are part of the bedrock of our great country.

We do need foreign seasonal workers in Wyoming, where our tourism and agricultural community rely on guest workers when there are no Americans to take the job. But our visa programs are broken and do not adequately respond to market conditions. The result is that foreigners have every incentive to enter the country illegally while those trying to play by the rules flounder in a system that is lengthy, cumbersome and expensive. To effectively fight illegal immigration, we must both crack down on illegal aliens working in the United States and simultaneously increase the number of legal workers in America.

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts with me. Please keep in touch.

Sincerely,
Cynthia M. Lummis
Member of Congress

Dear Connie,

Thank you for contacting me regarding the immigration reform. It is good to hear from you.

As you may know, Senator Richard Durbin (D-IL) introduced S. 729 the "Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act of 2009." This measure would give states the right to grant residency to certain illegal aliens for the purpose of qualifying them for higher education benefits. Currently, S. 729 has been referred to the Senate Committee on the Judiciary.

Like you, I believe that we must not reward illegal behavior. Our country's focus needs to be on securing our borders, and implementing a viable employee verification system to make certain that only those who are here legally are working in the United States. We must not allow an opportunity to receive amnesty through education. Please know I will keep your thoughts in mind if and when this bill comes before the full Senate.

Thanks again for sharing your views with me. I look forward to hearing from you in the future.

John Barrasso, M.D.
United States Senator

Tax Day TEA PARTY!!

Democrats! Republicans! Independents! Even you with no affiliation or have never voted!

The Tea Parties Today are about TAXES! If you pay taxes, you should CARE!

Life has been hard lately and getting worse for everyone. People need to "rally together" to get the message sent to DC that 'we constituants' want to be heard and we WILL REMEMBER how they voted for all this spending when it comes time for us to vote. They WILL be going home.

Life is no longer about my, me or mine. It is about "OURS". We The People!

Tough times brings strengths, comradery, simplicity and getting back to basics.
The value of the dollar is going to plummet. Understand how important the dollar is. Imagine wakeing up tomorrow and the dollar is like a piece of paper - no value. What would happen to our society? What would happen if there's no food at the grocery and no gas at the station?

As we all know things can change very quick. Dig deep and as a group we will make a difference and get through this together.

Here's my Tea Party chant...

STOP SPENDING OUR MONEY! ESPECIALLY THE MONEY WE DON’T HAVE! TIME FOR TERM LIMITS FOR ALL POLITICIANS SO THEY DONT GET TO BE ‘PROFESSIONAL’ POLITICIANS and abolish the Pensions, that's just as bad as the huge bonuses at failing big companies. Stop the Spending!

Patriots: A Novel of Survival in the Coming Collapse

Patriots: A Novel of Survival in the Coming Collapse
OMG, I can't get this book out of my head. Part novel, part survivalist-handbook, Patriots tells of a small group of friends facing every American's worst nightmare—the total collapse of society. The stock market plummets and hyperinflation cripples commerce and then a seemingly isolated financial crisis passes the tipping point when an unprepared government fails to act. Practically overnight, the fragile institutions of democracy fall apart and every American is forced to survive on their own.

Evading mobs of desperate, out-of-control citizens who have turned Chicago into a wasteland of looting and mayhem, this novel's protagonists make their way to a shared secure ranch in the wilds of northern Idaho. Here the survival-driven group fends off vicious attacks from the outside and eventually assists in restoring order to the country. The compelling, fast-paced action-adventure novel has readers jotting notes and referencing the book's impressive index for informative survivalist tips on everything from setting up a secure shelter to treating traumatic flesh wounds.

In Patriots, Rawles fully develops the critical themes of the importance of self-reliance, teamwork, preparedness, and dedication to our Constitution and our God. In it he explores the possibilities and what if of a total collapse of the civilized world that we have come to know and upon which we depend. Imagine, if you will, that the economy spins out of control and takes civilized society with it. Imagine this event making the Great Depression look like a walk in the park. How would one survive or thrive during such a chaotic experience?

This book is very well researched, and best of all, it is also very interesting to read. It's a bit heavy on gun info so guys will love that and the women warriors in this story are inspiring. Several years ago this book might have been simply an interesting work of fiction, but now in the post-9/11 world it is something to think seriously about. The circumstances in this book are quite possible, more so than any of us would like to admit. I strongly recommend "Patriots" to anyone who's ever wondered what would happen should the day come when they dialed 911 and nobody answered.(Remember Katrina, Hurricane Andrew and the LA Riots?) Read "Patriots" and find out. It is definitely time well spent. However, let me offer a word of warning. Pick up "Patriots" and you won't want to put it down until its finished! You never know when the lights will go out!

Economy Drives Some to Drop Auto Coverage

These days folks are forced to make some tough decisions on what to cut from their budgets. Sometimes the cuts can become dangerous.

In tough times, more and more people are driving without auto insurance. More uninsured drivers on the road leaves room for accidents where you might have to foot the bill.

Experts say this is becoming a trend in the weakening economy. It's expected there will be one in six uninsured drivers by 2010. "It stands to reason they don't have enough money to go around. Really in the last 3-5 years people are struggling to pay their auto premiums," said Doug Hahn of Allstate Insurance.

In most states, the requirements are $25,000/$50,000 for bodily injury liability. This means $25,000 per person or $50,000 per occurence.
Drivers are also required to have uninsured/underinsured motorist bodily injury coverage. This is built into even the most basic policies. But, again only $25,000/$50,000 is covered.

In a small fenderbender with no injuries, that is not even your fault, you have to first come up with the money for the deductable on your own insurance. If you have a $1000 or $500 deductable the repair might not even come to that amount and you just pay for it yourself. Then there is the inconvenience of having the car in the shop for a few days and worrying how you are going to get to work. Your reward for being lawful.....or you just live with the dents. Not very fair, is it?

If you can afford it, Hahn recommends uping both coverages to protect yourself and others. Is it just me or do you think 'it stands to reason' that if you have an uninsured accident, your insurance should insure you so you don't have to come up with the deductable?

The poor Economy will cause good people to make tough choices. Illegal aliens avoid paperwork of any kind so don't count on them to even have passed a drivers test or be licensed and traveling in distressed areas is risky. God forbid you have a major accident...this could easily put your families finances in a tailspin.

Drive careful people!

Simple Solution to Stimulate Economy

President Barack Obama is a smart man, and he has no doubt surrounded himself with a multitude of well-educated and extremely intelligent individuals.(????) With that in mind, it is difficult to understand why he has consistently ignored some of the most fundamental principals of the U.S. economy, and the suggestions of some of our nation's leading economic experts in drafting his stimulus plan.

President Obama's stimulus plan ignores the fact that 98 percent of all firms in the United States have less than 100 employees. Over 26 million firms fall into that category. They employ approximately 50.4 percent of the private sector workforce and create over 80 percent of all new jobs in America. These firms are responsible for over 90 percent of all U.S. exports and over 90 percent of all technological innovation in America. Large businesses on the other hand, have not created one net new job in America since 1977.

When Congress passed the Small Business Act in 1953, its members realized what President Obama seems to have missed, that small businesses are the heart and soul of the U.S. economy. The Small Business Act was an economic stimulus plan, and it worked. Existing federal law states that a minimum of 23 percent of the total value of all federal contracts and subcontracts shall be awarded to small businesses. In the hast to spend the trillions, the small business percentage is being repressed and overlooked in an effort to come to the aid of troubled BIG businesses.

So far, nothing President Obama has proposed to stimulate our nation's failing economy would be as effective and cost efficient as simply adopting policies and legislation that would redirect over $100 billion, year-after-year, back into the middle class economy.

If President Obama sincerely wants to create jobs and stimulate the national economy he needs to start by making good on a campaign promise he made in February of 2008 when he stated, "Small businesses are the backbone of our nation's economy and we must protect this great resource. It is time to end the diversion of federal small business contracts to corporate giants."

Red Ink

First the Stimulus, now the Budget...

The Congressional Budget Office forecasts a deficit of 9.6 percent of GDP in fiscal 2010 if Congress enacts President Obama's $3.6 trillion budget plan -- a deficit also much larger than what the president predicted. The difference largely reflects the CBO's economic forecast, which is more up-to-date and, hence, gloomier than the one Mr. Obama relied on. ( This is what happens when you run with the advice that is biased to fit the wishes...and who knows how accurate the CBO forecasts are either, it could be much worse!)

Mr. Obama should treat the CBO report as an incentive to fulfill his repeated promises, during and after the campaign, to make 'hard choices' on the budget. (Every President has had to make sacrifices to their personal agendas, why can't Obama?)

Until now he has offered a host of new spending -- on health care, middle-class tax cuts, education and alternative energy -- without calling for much sacrifice from anyone except the top 5 percent of the income scale. Though his emphasis on controlling health-care costs is welcome, it's not a substitute for reforming the entitlement programs that are the drivers of long-term fiscal crisis, Medicare and Social Security. Yet the president has offered no plan for either and no road map even for achieving a plan. Several members of his own party in the Senate have been expressing doubts about his strategy, and the CBO report will lend credibility to their concerns. He should heed them. (The Dems will be jumping off the Obama train more and more to save their political butts.... before the Train Wreck happens. What we won't forget is it was the Majority who set the train in motion!)

Congress passes $3.5 trillion budget in the dark

Congress approved Barack Obama’s sweeping new budget late last night, approving a level of spending over 10% more than the final year of the Bush administration despite the economic crisis. The $3.5 trillion budget grew over 2009’s $3.1 trillion spending plan, and left almost all of Obama’s wish lists intact.

Congressional Democrats overwhelmingly embraced President Obama’s ambitious and expensive agenda for the nation. By endorsing a $3.5 trillion spending plan that sets the stage for the president to pursue his most far-reaching priorities. It would permit work to begin on the central goals of Obama’s presidency: an expansion of health-care coverage for the uninsured, more money for college loans and a cap-and-trade system to reduce gases that contribute to global warming.

President Obama has lost some Congressional support since Porkulus. The Washington Post doesn’t mention this in its report, but Democratic defectors grew from seven in the House to 20 defectors last night. In the Senate, where Democrats won three key Republican votes for Porkulus, they didn’t get a single GOP vote. In fact, they lost two Democrats: Ben Nelson (D-NE) and Evan Bayh (D-IN).

In an era where Americans have to tighten their belts and reduce their borrowing in order to shore up their own financial situations, Congress and Obama have shown no such sense of shared sacrifice. Instead, they’re busy borrowing like maniacs to pay for their own pet projects. It’s a disgrace, and even some Democrats have discovered this. From 7 to 20 defectors...how long will it take for the rest of the Democrats to figure out they are on the wrong side of what is right for the People.

Alert! The DREAM Act is re-introduced!

Alert! The DREAM Act amnesty is re-introduced in the House and Senate!

Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Congressman Howard Berman (D-CA) have introduced their latest version of the DREAM Act (S 729 and HR 1751). In spite of the lofty rhetoric, the legislation is really a sweeping amnesty for a broad range of illegal aliens who meet certain minimal educational requirements.

In fact, the amnesty is even more expansive than last session's DREAM Act. The legalization would cover "children" up to the age of 35, a five-year bump above the previous version. Adult amnesty recipients, or minors when they turn 21, could then petition to bring in other relatives.

When 12 million American citizens are unemployed, and middle-class families are unable to seek the higher education of their choice because they lack sufficient funds, we do not want a new amnesty that increases the competition for these scarce resources.

ACTION NEEDED!!

We need another public OUTCRY to stop this amnesty. Let your Senators and Representative know that you oppose the DREAM Act.

Glenn Beck: Save the planet...don't grow food

Do you Notice with all the talk in todays politics, that not much gets said about AGRICULTURE? I do remember a time when farmers drove their big tractors and combines into DC and circled the White House...but generally the Voice of farmers and ranchers is seldom heard. We are by nature just too damn busy!! So when Glenn Beck brought up ag related commentary two days in a row, one on Beef and the other on Crops, generally on food production...it got my attention!

Here's the jist of what he said on his program....

During the Great Depression, millions were hungry, but crop and livestock prices were so low that producers could not live off the land, so FDR adjusted supply by paying farmers to destroy ten million acres of crops and kill six million farm animals. Tim Geithner talks about that same market today, "The market can't solve this problem. Only government can." Cap and Trade is his solution and here is an example.

Rex Woollen grows corn and soybeans. In 2007, the Wilcox, Nebraska farmer started cultivating a new commodity: Carbon. By not tilling 800 acres, Woollen by some estimates keeps 470 tons of carbon per year in the ground and out of the atmosphere and because of that, Woollen gets carbon credits that he can then sell to the Chicago Climate Exchange. Do you see what's happening here? By not growing crops, he saves carbon and he gets paid for it. Woollen gets $3,000 a year, while it's not much to Woollen, it hints at a bigger potential profit as congress considers mandatory nationwide greenhouse gas limits. For now he's only getting paid a little for not growing crops, but should that go up once the government gets involved, he's thinking there could be a lot of money here. Some state farm lawmakers want to let farmers create separate sources of carbon allowances. Farmers who plant trees would earn offsets to sell alongside government permits on carbon markets. So not only can you earn cash as a farmer by not farming, you can also get more if you plant things that aren't crops. And people say that common sense is dead. You know that Barack Obama wants a cap and trade bill and you know that farm states would be key votes to getting it passed so you can expect a lot more of this kind of nonsense on the horizon. But what about the Chicago Climate Exchange itself?

Well, guess who was on the board of the charity that gave over a million dollars in crucial funds to the Chicago Climate Exchange during its infancy? Yeah, Barack Obama. In fact, even some environmentalists are admitting they worry a little bit about cap and trade, noticing what it actually is, a brand new giant derivatives market. But what could possibly happen with a derivatives market going bad? I mean, that's not like that could derail our entire economy or anything, right?

In defense of farmers and ranchers, who happen to be a group of people with the most 'Common Sense', will do whatever they are forced to do to preserve and protect the Land and to Survive and keep their operation viable in any market. Farms and Ranches are generally FAMILY businesses, passed from prior generations, maintained to be passed on to future generations. It will be the new Corporate farms and ranches that will jump on this 'Carbon Train'!

Story on Glenn Beck's Show

Apr 1, 2009

Another Obama nominee has neglected to pay taxes.
Either Democrats like to jack up your taxes or they don't care because they don't have to pay them...OR...the tax code is way too complicated.
The third explanation is of course both of the previous scenarios. Kathleen Sebelius, Governor of Kansas, is the latest Democrat who apparently doesn't like paying taxes as much as she likes doling them out.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Health and Human Services nominee Kathleen Sebelius recently corrected three years of tax returns and paid more than $7,000 in back taxes after finding "unintentional errors"—the latest tax troubles for an Obama administration nominee.
Sebelius said she filed the amended returns as soon as the errors were discovered by an accountant she hired to scrub her taxes in preparation for her confirmation hearings. She and her husband, Gary, a federal magistrate judge in Kansas, paid a total of $7,040 in back taxes and $878 in interest to amend returns from 2005-2007.

Newsflash....Usually the cleanest, most qualified get Vetted to high offices. Since the 'BEST' Democrats have been selected for Obama's cabinetary, and have been found to have tax problems....maybe we need to have 'All' elected office holders go through a tax audit. Would sure be interesting to know who the thiefs are that are spending our tax dollars!
